When I was little my mom had coffee with her friends at least twice a week. They went from house to house....kids in tow with the admonition to us that we were not to bother them. These gatherings were the way that women stayed in touch with things. They exchanged recipes, childcare tips, showed off their decorating and craft projects and of course gossiped about the friends that were not there.....
Sound like anything you do electronically?
Now that women are trying to balance full time jobs, kids, homes and fun, there certainly isn't time for having/going to a coffee party twice a week.
So in steps the Blogosphere!
Now you can meet all of the same needs as my mother's generation on your own schedule....and you don't have to get out of your pajamas, make a coffeecake or clean the house to do it!
I do think it is nice to have friends over once in awhile....and when we do...guess what we talk about?
Yup....the latest cool blogs we are reading!
Blogging is easier on the waistline - unless you eat at the computer (which i am guilty of). Thanks for your comments on Uber Savvy, Hope your kids enjoy the dragonflies- my husband also did the activity with his science class, just using old magazines for the wings. Send me a picture when you are finished! Lynda
